“Balut” of the Philippines

“Balut” is a very common food in the Philippines. It is made by boiling in water one-day old duckling eggs. They are mostly sold along the streets usually at night time. The “Balut” is popular in the Philippines because aside from its distinct taste especially when paired with hot and spicy vinegar with salt, it is also believed to physically energize and strengthen a person.
